What Happens on a Prayer Tour to Spain?

One thing that will happen is that you will gain a larger family. We eat together, sleep together, travel in vans together, get sick together, share our stories together, get tired together, learn about prayer together, worship together, minister together, laugh and cry together, sometimes have to forgive one another, get the idea?

Of course you are in a country your unfamiliar with so that is part of the experience. You suspend all of your normal routines and comfort zones to spend time with God and others. To look for his heart. Think about it this way...most things we pray for have something to do with our own lives. We get something back from it. This prayer will never result in more people coming to your church, or revival in America or the health and well being of your family. It is prayer and ministry to God's Spanish family. They are on his heart. There is something that God honors in that dynamic. It has to do with it being more blessed to give than to receive. There is a deposit God makes in you. It never leaves. It changes you forever.

Don teaches about prayer each and every day. That's one of the things I love. Seeing God deposit his truths about prayer like seeds planted in soil that has been tilled and is ready to receive and grow. Then we pray and worship, usually outdoors. You are with regular people. We don't take giants in the faith...the experienced mighty ones. We are all just regular people of God.

It's an experience of the giving and receiving of love.

You'll be meeting Spanish believers. You'll see life from their perspective. You'll get to be in their churches and you'll have an opportunity to pray for them and maybe even have them pray for you. You'll get to worship in Spanish. You'll be amazed at how quickly you can fall in love with a people you knew little about! You'll hear God's voice. He'll whisper things to you about yourself and others. You'll feel his presence surrounding you. You'll discover that language isn't the barrier to God's breaking through you thought it was.

You'll get to eat lots of Spanish food. It is delicious. Not spicy like Mexican food (which I also happen to love). You'll get to see the country side, hills covered with olive trees and vineyards. You'll step back in time. Spain is truly old. Seeing beautiful architecture which changes from region to region. Because most of our time will be spent in the south, you'll get to see Spain with the Moorish influence. It is my favorite. Lovely courtyards and beautiful tiles. You'll have the opportunity to see some awesome Cathedrals, palaces, and castles, should you choose to do that on your free time. You'll get plenty of exercise. We walk a lot and you'll spend plenty of time out doors, where you'll find many of the streets scented with the fragrance of orange blossoms. Your eating schedule will be different. You'll eat your main meal at 2 in the afternoon. You'll taste some of the most awesome orange juice and coffee in the world. If you don't like coffee that's ok too, but many who don't like coffee love Spanish coffee. The pastries are amazing. They have sweet strawberries the size of Clementine’s, and oranges that are as sweet as honey.

Hope that gives you an idea of what it will be like. Hope it makes your heart beat faster. I hope you come!

Blessings,
